Jack is no longer top of the hill! The 2 year winning streak of Jack as the most favoured boys name in Australasia has been broken by last years runner up William. However, Jack did come in a close second meaning the top 2 boys names have remained the same.

The most favoured girls name in Australasia by a clear margin is Sophie – a new entrant and not featuring on either side of the Tasman last year. But other top predictions from last year have remained in the top tier including Emily, Ruby and Amelia.

For the fourth year running, EGG has been surveying shoppers in its Australian and New Zealand maternity wear stores to find out the most popular boys and girls names in Australasia for the coming year.
